Fairmount Fruit Farm – Franklin, MA

Its Fall! Apple picking season! Its always the big debate in our house over which apple farm to visit. We enjoy activities besides just apple picking, but also try to avoid crazy crowds. This is why Fairmount Fruit Farm has become a favorite of ours.

A small farm that offers just enough for a few hours of fun. The small hay maze was a favorite with our kids, along with the hayride to the apple fields. Once at the apple fields, there was a wide variety of apples to choose from. We sampled each of the apple types, found our favorite and started picking. We walked back, catching butterflies along the way, and ended up visiting goat, geese, a baby lamb and mother and chickens along the way. There was a quarter food machine that allowed you to feed the animals, after some oos and ahhhs we were on our way.

We decided to forego the extra fee items they offered such as pony rides, gem mining, and face painting, but splurged on some apple fritters. DELICIOUS! We stopped to pet the alpacas on the way out and headed down the street to Franklin’s Flatbreads for a snack. Now we just need to figure out what to do with all of these apples. Best part? It wasnt crazy crowded on a beautiful Fall weekend.
