We were out in Walpole visiting Southridge Farm and Nursery, when we got a bit lost and stumbled upon a parking lot for the Walpole Town Forest, just around the bend.  The kids and I decided to go on an adventure and check it out.  I’m not sure why I’ve never heard of this place before but it was one of the most well kept and beautiful settings I’ve seen around here.  There are multiple trails, all very smooth and well labeled and maintained, a map of the area, a bridge, a fireplace and benches throughout.  The kids had fun running over the big white bridge and going down to the water to look at the lily pads.  I just looked around in awe of the beauty.

If you haven’t taken a hike here yet, definitely a place to check out.  We met a few people along the way, one guy walking his dog and a grandmother and her two grandsons fishing off the bridge.  Seems like a great place for all!

Few things to note:

  • It was a little buggy when we were there so come prepared
  • Seems like a great fishing spot for kids
  • Very easy hike – flat and groomed. Could probably even push a stroller…
  • Free parking!

How to get there:
