The Teach Me Time Talking Alarm Clock has been a lifesaver for our family. We moved our daughter into a “big girl” bed when she was 2.5 years old and were a bit hesitant about how it would go.  We bought this clock before the big move and had it ready to show our daughter on that exciting first night in her bed.  We laid down the law and told her the rules of being a big girl, which included that she could not leave her room or her bed until her clock turned green.

Lucky for us, it worked! From day one, we stuck to our guns.  It’s now 1.5 years later and she still waits for that clock to turn green.  There were a few hiccups along the way, times where she snuck out and came knockin’ on our door but my husband and I always walked her back into her room and had her wait for that green light.  When she was adamant about not waiting (which has been few and far between), usually on birthdays or other exciting days, we sat in her room with her and waited for the light together.

There are other functions to the clock as well.  It can glow yellow all night as a night light or you can play an educational game on it to learn time.  My daughter is still a bit young for this.  It comes with three different interchangeable face plates as well.  Really, we just use it to turn green like a stop light and this is all we need.  It makes for a well rested happy mom in the morning!

On a side note: We’ve also owned the OK to Wake Clock by the same company and we’re equally satisfied with it.  We actually travel with these clocks to make vacations a bit more relaxing and broke it on one of our travels so decided to replace it with this plug in version.
