The Grape Leaf – Canton, MA

Middle Eastern Cuisine

I love good food. Whenever a new restaurant comes to town, I always love to give them a once over.  I’ve been keeping my eye on The Grape Leaf in Canton for a few months now, waiting for them to open and a good opportunity to check them out.  The kids needed to be in bed early tonight so we decided to do take out.  The restaurant has a cute vibe on the outside, complete with grapevines hanging over a trellis with outdoor seating.  Restaurants with outdoor seating always score an extra point with me! The inside is nice too, not fancy restaurant nice, but more so clean, modern and well put together.  Almost like a really nice cafe.  There are a handful of tables to eat at and a glass display case with a lot of delicious looking to go options.

They were sampling the Shanklish this evening and it was delicious!! I was tempted to cancel my whole order and just eat that all evening.  In fact, now that I’m thinking of it, I kinda want to go back tomorrow and get some of that. Mmm. Anyhow, I went through with the original order – getting the vegetarian appetizer sampler, beef kabobs and a lamb kebab.  They were all very tasty.  My judge for a good Middle Eastern restaurant is usually the taste of the humus and falafel balls and these were both pretty good.  If I could just eat appetizers, I probably would.

I liked that the place had a laid back vibe, not too fancy and think we may even be able to bring our precious lil monsters here sometime!  Definitely worth checking them out!
