The Village Toy Shop is a great local toy store. My daughter has been invited to a number of birthday parties lately by kids in her class and I’m always at a loss of what to get. In comes the Village Toy Shop. I walk in, my kids play with the various toy tables and sample products left out for them, while a saleswoman takes me around the store showing me exactly what a 4 year old boy or 2 year girl or 7 year old boy might like. After choosing something, they then gift wrap it for free and bam, I’m done! Pain free! We usually spend some extra time “browsing” the store as the kids always have a good time playing there.
Even better, each location hosts a weekly story/craft time and has various events throughout the month. We definitely took advantage of these during those long winter months. Prices are pretty decent and comparable to other places, but admittedly a bit more than amazon. There’s something to be said though for the personalized help, seeing the product in person and getting it same day. You can tell they have a strong following as when I finally got to the birthday party, there was an entire table of their signature colored star wrapping paper.
Few things to note:
- They have a fantastic return policy. My daughter happened to get numerous of the same gifts for her birthday and they let me exchange them, no gift receipt, no questions asked.
- Get on their mailing list! They send out awesome coupons. Last month was Buy one toy, get one half off. I bought my kids magna tiles with this and saved a boat load!
