Cranberry Bog Nature Trail (and Bass Pro Shops) – Foxboro, MA

It’s a little known fact but behind the Bass Pro Shops at Patriot Place there is an OceanSpray cranberry bog with a nature trail around it. The trail is the perfect distance for little legs and a really fun and educational detour while shopping. Along the way, there are signs telling you about the bog and what’s around you. It goes through a wooded area, a dirt trail with brush and a long bridge over the water. You can often spot ducks, turtles and other birds on the way.
After we’ve done our loop on the nature trail, we like to head back towards Bass Pro to check out the little waterfall and pond in back. We then enter through their café and head on over to the gigantic fish tank inside. They even have live feedings of the fish in the afternoon for all to see! There’s also a section with turtles on a log that’s fun to check out. The kids are always amazed at all of the giant “stuffed” animals around them and have fun checking out a small cave like structure with a giant stuffed bear inside.
While you would never think to go hang out at Bass Pro Shops with the kids, it’s actually a really great place. They often have kids activities and events on the weekends as well. Check out their website for what’s going on.
